Setting up static IP address on your computers

Windows 9x and ME:

Go to Start > Settings > Control Panel > Network > Highlight the TCP/IP of the Wireless LAN card you’re using > Properties

Under IP Address TAB:
Specify an IP address: 192.168.1.xxx
xxx is either from 2 to 99 or 150 to 254
Subnet Mask: 255.255.255.0

Click the GATEWAY TAB:
Under New Gateway: Enter 192.168.1.1 then click on Add.

Click the DNS Configuration TAB:
--Verify the DNS to enter under the Status Page of the Router.
Enter the DNS under the DNS search order then hit Add. Do the same on the 2nd DNS.
Then Hit Ok All the way out… hit yes if it’ll ask you to restart

Windows XP and 2000

Go to Start > Control Panel > Network Connections > Right Click Local Area Network Connection that you are using > Properties > Internet Protocol TCP/IP > Properties > Use the following IP address:

IP Address: 192.168.1.xxx
xxx is either from 2 to 99 or 150 to 254
Subnet Mask: 255.255.255.0

Default Gateway: 192.168.1.1
Set to use the following DNS servers:
Preferred DNS: DNS 1
Alternate DNS: DNS 2
--Verify it under the Status Page of the Router.

Then Hit Ok All the way out.

How to get the DNS in the Router:

Launch your Internet Explorer 5 or later version or Netscape Navigator 4 or later version.
On the Address, Search or URL, type: http://192.168.1.1, then hit Enter/Return. A login screen will appear. Type admin for the password and leave the username blank or empty then hit “OK”.

Go to Status TAB and look for the DNS’s. Just copy the first two sets of DNS numbers.

Almost the same with Vista computers.

Go to Start > Control Panel > Network and Sharing Center > on the left, click on Manage Network Connection > Right Click Local Area Network Connection that you are using > Properties > Internet Protocol TCP/IP > Properties > Use the following IP address:

IP Address: 192.168.1.xxx
xxx is either from 2 to 99 or 150 to 254
Subnet Mask: 255.255.255.0

Default Gateway: 192.168.1.1
Set to use the following DNS servers:
Preferred DNS: DNS 1
Alternate DNS: DNS 2
--Verify it under the Status Page of the Router.

Then Hit Ok All the way out.
